Biometric login
The biometric plugin lets users sign in with a fingerprint or face recognition instead of typing a username and password on every launch.
Activation
Section titled “Activation”You activate the Biometric Storage Plugin in the backoffice. Because it is a native plugin, you then have to recompile the app and publish it again in the stores: a configuration change is not enough.
Operating modes
Section titled “Operating modes”Biometric Plugin — automatic execution, with no custom code needed in the app configuration. This is the recommended mode.
Manual — requires your own implementation from the advanced app configuration. For login flows that do not fit the standard selectors.
Auto-launch
Section titled “Auto-launch”With auto-launch active, the app tries to detect stored biometric credentials at startup. Intended for apps that require an active session before showing content.
Supported store engines
Section titled “Supported store engines”Currently Shopify: when the biometric credentials are retrieved, the login completes automatically.
Biometric login is a module of its own and is not part of the standard Shopify module. It is added as additional project functionality, like the rest of the custom capabilities.
Configuration from administration
Section titled “Configuration from administration”Form selectors — you configure the selectors for the login, sign-up and password change forms, which may live on different URLs.
Cookie session bridge — optional, for flows across subdomains.
sessionStorage is limited to the origin, so if your login jumps across
domains you need this bridge.
Modal texts — customisable per language: English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese and Italian.
Styles — your own CSS for the modal, with animations and responsive design by default.
Overrides from the advanced configuration
Section titled “Overrides from the advanced configuration”From the advanced app configuration you can enable the debug log, specify the store engine, define your own authentication handlers, control the redirect after login, validate return URLs and hook up a custom login listener.
